I am a part of a cultural group throwing an outdoor arts event at a large park, and I'm wondering if one or two professional peer support specialists (for mental health) would be interested in volunteering for 2.5 hours to be present in case there are any disruptions from individuals. I have all the hotline numbers on hand, as well as how to contact Circle, but I would love to have some people who could deescalate if necessary with compassion and kindness. I wish we could pay, and we might have funds depending on how much we raise, but it probably has to remain volunteer. In the meantime, I'm familiarizing myself with NAMI's crisis protocol.
